What are the benefits of adopting CraneDash?

Operators:

Access all applicable information on their specific unit (Manufacturer’s Manual, Load Chart, Maintenance History, Work Orders, etc.);
Access, review and acknowledge understanding of all Protocol related to the safe operation of their specific unit;
Access, complete and automatically submit daily pre-use inspection;
Access, complete and automatically submit weekly maintenance inspection;
Ability to create notifications and submit to Crane Supervisor for follow-up.

Managers:

Access, complete and automatically submit Initial unit installation coordination checklist/assignment of responsibility report;
Access all applicable information on their specific units on site (Manufacturer’s Manual, Load Chart, Maintenance History, Work Orders, etc.);
Allows to review and ensure all parties assigned with responsibilities during the crane installation and on-going operation process have and continue to complete their tasks; Allows to review and ensure all required inspections are performed at the established frequency;
Programmable to receive notifications when items requiring attention are identified on the crane;
Programmable to receive notifications should the established preventive maintenance or pre-use inspections not be performed on time;
Access, complete and submit the required Fire Department Technical Rescue Notification/Assistance request form;
Access, complete and submit Crane Post Installation Notification of Readiness for Inspection request to Regulator; Ability to create notifications and submit to Crane Supervisor for follow-up.

Owners/Renters:

Access all applicable information on their specific units on-site location (Manufacturer’s Manual, Load Chart, Maintenance History, Work Orders, etc.);
Access, complete and automatically submit Mechanical and Electrical Readiness Checklist;
Allows access and submittal of required work orders;
Allows to review and ensure all required inspections are performed at the established frequency;
Programmable to receive notifications when items requiring attention are identified on the crane;
Programmable to receive notifications when preventive maintenance is due on a unit;
Programmable to receive notifications should established preventive maintenance or pre-use inspections not be performed on time;
Ability to create notifications and submit to Crane Supervisor/operator for follow-up.

Service Personnel:

Access, complete and automatically submit Mechanical and Electrical Readiness Checklist;
Allows access, receipt and management of created work orders with notifications upon completion;
Access all applicable information on the specific unit they are working on (Manufacturer’s Manual, Load Chart, Maintenance History, Work Orders, Engineered instructions, etc.);
Access, review and acknowledge understanding of all Procedures related to the safe performance of their assigned task on a specific unit;
Access, complete and automatically submit Service Crew Pre-Start Meeting;
Access, complete and automatically submit the Service Task Field Review and Hazard Assessment;
Access, complete and automatically submit Installation Services Report;
Allows to review and ensure all required inspections are performed at the established frequency;
Programmable to receive notifications when an item requiring attention is identified on the crane;
Programmable to receive notifications when preventive maintenance is due on a unit;
Programmable to receive notifications should the established preventive maintenance or pre-use inspections not be performed on time;

Engineers:

Access and check completion of assignment of responsibility report;

Access all applicable information on the specific unit they are working on (Manufacturer’s Manual, Load Chart, etc.);
Access information database for the specific unit they are working on and drop-in required reports upon completion for all to have access;
Access, complete and automatically submit tailored field inspection reports;

Regulators:

Access all applicable information on the specific unit for which is in operation (Manufacturer’s Manual, Load Chart, Engineering information, Installation Reports, Specifications, Inspections checklists, Work Order completion, Preventive Maintenance system, etc.);
No need to go to a specific site to review information. Everything is available on-line.

A proper safety program must also educate operators of Federal, State and Provincial Requirements regarding crane operation. It is crucial in making sure that all operators are aware of and abide by all the various health and safety codes, acts, and regulations legislated within their area of operation. Crane operators must also know how to properly maintain and inspect their cranes to meet applicable standards, and they must be properly educated on all the necessary pre-operational, operational, and post-operational requirements that must be followed as per Manufacturer’s specifications.

Supervisors must also be fully aware and be able to follow all safety rules and regulations and be able to monitor and evaluate each operator’s performance, taking appropriate action when an operator is not actively abiding by safe work-practices. They must have relevant knowledge, operator experience, instructional experience, excellent communication skills, and it is also highly recommended that they take an in-depth course in operator training before in order to become qualified.
